Lifelong resident of the City of Chicago and the 37th ward for over 30 years. Maretta is a single mother of three and grandmother to four in her closely knitted diversified God-fearing, God- loving family. An alumnus of Whitney M. Young HS Class of 1979 and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Concordia University, River Forest, IL.
Maretta envisions her community invigorated by the people who live, and do business in the 37th Ward. She is a candidate who believes that it truly takes a village to not only raise a child, but to raise the village above its circumstances.
Maretta is a leader who has a vision, and a purpose driven plan to make government work for the people. Not a bunch of unrealistic campaign promises, but a set of goals every constituent in the 37th Ward can contribute an active role in building a ward with accessible to the people who live, and do business in the 37th Ward.
Maretta’s plan for invigorating, reviving, and make the 37th Ward a destination place alive full of activity for all of Chicagoans to participate and take pride in as Alderman, is to involve the residents of the 37th Ward in creating the change, the residents of the 37th Ward want to see. By offering the ward these goals, it is Maretta’s organizational and management abilities that will lay the foundation. By setting community change goals, Maretta has begun to give the community a blueprint to draw from.
